Buying a Home in Plano, TX: Costs, Schools and Neighborhoods

Quick take. Plano is the established choice: mature trees, no residential MUDs, DART rail, and a big job base at Legacy and along US 75. You can get into Plano for less than Frisco or Prosper, especially on the east side. The surprise buyers miss is that many homes are 30 to 40 years old, so roof, HVAC, and foundation age matter as much as price.

I’m Neda with Houses by Neda Team. I’ve lived in Collin County for 13 years, and I came to real estate from accounting, so I show buyers the full monthly cost before they fall in love with a house.
